In honour (honor for my American friends) of Martha Payne aka VEG, I thought I would share the meal I ate over the weekend. Now it isn’t exactly a school meal but the tray reminded me of that place. As I was out, and not paying (thanks Mum and Dad) it really had to be the Harrys Bar ‘Steak on a Stone’ special. The steak was perfectly cooked, though I would say that I cooked it myself. Yes, I went to a restaurant and cooked my own food!? One of the features of this dish is that you can cook it to your own liking on an impossibly hot stone; luckily we were by a window so it wasn’t as hot as I was warned it can get. The chunky chips we nice though a little under cooked. Leeks were soft and well seasoned. The onion rings were far too crispy, in fact I am still debating the existence on onion in all that overcooked batter, but I still ate them all. Also came with a peppercorn sauce that was delicious.
